Frequently Asked Questions
1. WHAT MAKES WISHVIEW STAND OUT?
Our preschool offers one of the best child development programs in Greensboro. Heres why: We have a loving atmosphere, a uniquely professional teaching staff, 5 Star rating, AND an excellent history of inspection visits. Visit the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education website and compare our preschool's history of inspection visits with other programs; you will be amazed!
Our tuition rates are similar to other 5 Star programs, but our rates include more services such as child development progress reports, beautiful meals, snacks and many special activities. At Wishview you and your child simply get much more for your investment!
2. DO YOU CURRENTLY HAVE ANY OPENINGS?
Our classrooms are typically full, but do not let the waiting list scare you away! Joining the waiting list gives your child a secure place in the line of families who will be offered a classroom slot as openings become available and our top-rated early childhood program is definitely worth the wait!
We enroll new students year round as classrooms evolve. PLEASE NOTE: Some parents call the preschool periodically, looking/waiting to catch an open slot, however, this method is less successful because each open slot goes to the next child that is already on our waiting list. A fully completed application with $40 check/money order secures a place on our waiting list. Just mail it in!
Later, when we contact you about an opening, the $100 enrollment fee is required to reserve an open classroom slot.
3. HOW DO I ARRANGE A TOUR?
First, submit a complete Enrollment Application. Then, after giving us at least 3 business days to process your application, call to arrange a tour at (336) 854-0421.
4. WHEN IS THE PRESCHOOL CLOSED?
New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday (Observed), One Professional Development Day in February or March, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, The day after Independence Day, Labor Day, One Professional Development Day in September or October, Veteran’s Day, 1/2 Day the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, The day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, The two consecutive days after Christmas, and as necessary for severe weather.
*If any of the above days falls on a weekend, we will close on the nearest weekday instead.
5. WILL WISHVIEW PREPARE MY CHILD FOR KINDERGARTEN?
Yes, early childhood is an ideal time for children to develop curiosity, concentration, independence, creativity, social skills, and critical thinking habits. We take full advantage of this special opportunity to inspire learning and development. Our teachers intentionally introduce a variety of interesting early childhood study topics to their classes year-round and your child will participate in planned activities designed to teach social, literacy, math, science, and social studies content at the preschool level. Learning and skill development occur through investigating questions, enjoying a wide variety of books, hands-on exploration, the arts, planned small group instruction, and valuable free play. Twice a year we hold parent-teacher conferences to review your child's developmental progress.
6. WHICH MEALS AND ACTIVITIES ARE INCLUDED WITH TUITION?
Each day we serve three freshly prepared meals- breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack at no additional charge; plus we do accomodate students with special dietary needs. Our enrichment activities include KinderSpanish classes for ages 3 and up, and year-round Musikgarten (music education) for ages 1 and up.
